Player Profile
Hitting
All things considered Dan had a pretty good year from the plate as
a rookie captain; his OBP of .649 was best in the league and his .348
average was second for the Yanks. He drew 47 walks which was best
on the team and his 32 RBI's was second only to Zac Longo. If the
Yankees are going to make it back to the playoffs in 2010 Dan will
need an even better year from the plate.
Defense
Dan played first base for the Yankees throughout the year and how
good he is depends on who you ask. Some say he is a solid first
baseman, unfortunately for him he is best known for mishandling a
routine grounder up the middle in last years All-Star game which
allowed the Hess to come from behind to beat the Lamb in an epic
game. A solid defense will go along way for the Yanks in 2010.
