Public Enemies, Smash Bros earn National Rankings

At the time of this article, the Public Enemies sit at an undefeated 5-0 with a game to finish against Wake & Rake, and a series to make-up with the Legend Killers. Likewise, the 5-1 Smash Bros have a series to make-up against the Leftovers. With those make-up games looming the National Wiffleball Rankings have released their week 4 large league rankings, and both the Public Enemies and Smash Bros are featured on the list of 25. The Smash Bros and their high powered offense come in at #14, while the Public Enemies rise to the top 3 taking the third spot in the list.

There is usually little to take from the national rankings, as it is impossible to really rank the teams based on wins and losses without seeing them for yourself. There certainly isn’t an 11 team difference between the Public Enemies and Smash Bros, in fact the order of superiority could be swapped without argument. With the odds greatly in favor of the Smash Bros in their pending series with the Leftovers, they could find themselves 7-1, while it is entirely possible that the Enemies lose their extra inning game against Wake and Rake, and split with the Legend Killers to sit at a record of 6-2. This however is why we play the games.
